URGENT NOTICE: Comics for your Wii problem
Hello,
On Saturday at the UK Web & Mini Comix Thing 2008, we were selling "Comics for your Wii" SD cards containing 2 of our print comics formatted as JPEGs to optimally display on the Wii's photo channel..however I screwed up and didn't test all of the SD cards, it's possible that some of them won't display on the Wii at all due to a formatting bug when they were written, of course this won't do!
I'm a man of my word so if this is the case and you have faulty goods, then please e-mail me at wes (at) gfbowl.com telling me so and give me your postal address and I'll not only e-mail a working card out to you (call the current one a free gift you can re-format and use to save your save files on, your digital photos or virtual console games etc.) but I'll also send you a copy of our brand new printed comic book "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Shopping Centre" for free.
I'm really sorry about this, and hope the above will make amends. :)
Comic of 0 for: Wednesday 24th March 2004
Here... The dog chewed it a little, but it's still good :: [22:09:49] - JoffI've been asked to do a report on the convention, so here it is, everything that I thought was important to note is there, the others may want to change it/add to it at some point...
The UK Web and Mini Comix Thing 2004 was alot of fun. We got up at insane o' clock in the morning (6:00... Insane I tells ya!)
We managed to get a taxi to the Octagon alright, though Wes had to go back and get his insulin, and two big ass pads of paper (A2). So me and Darren had to get set up, and did so quite well. As we were setting up, we got talking to the other exhibitors there at the time, Patrick Findley (The guy who organised the con) and Bandit and Karyu (who's artwork was absolutely phenomenal). Things were pretty quiet for the majority of the morning, we sold a few copies of our comic and made a few contacts, and got a better look at people we had met and ate food with at a Japanese resturaunt the previous night (Incidentaly, I found out that Ramen is very nice). We also got to talking with our neighbouring tables (Kinda Manga, Bollox, Fudebakudo and the others), and managed to share ideas of how to do things, which was nice.
Things picked up speed a little from about 11:00, with a steady influx of visitors moving through the hall to see what was what.
We sold few comics during this time, though we did manage to shift our free gifts (comics on CD and leaflets), we hope that we will at least get a few new readers. We also noticed that our site was on the plasma screen facing into the hall near the entrance. And since Wes' wireless internet thing wasn't prepared to do anything to assist us, we used that to update the site... After a few attempts. We eventually managed to put up the happy dance, which I think actually helped send people our way, which was nice.
We eventually decided that if we were to make any more comics sales, then we would have to abbandon our morals and resorted to the ultimate bribery... Chocolate Digestives ^_^ This seemed to help immensely as within an hour we sold more than we had in the rest of the day. The lure of the chocolate is a strong one indeed...
Darren won third place in a competition and so now has a subscription to moderntales.com ... lucky bugger.
As the end drew near, we made a final sweep of the hall. We talked to a few people and tried to work out link swap deals, so expect our links page to expand at some point as a result.
Oh. I also got a cat hat... Much fun indeed..
